Megumi Azekawa - Piano Instructor
Megumi has been teaching piano for over 10 years in Japan, Western Canada, the West Coast, and Colorado for students at a variety of levels. As an experienced performer of a diverse repertoire, she plays in a wide range of styles including classical, jazz and pop. She also accompanies other musicians for competitions and recital performances.
In addition, Megumi is a board certified music therapist and owner of MusiClinic (www.MusiClinic.com). She provides music therapy services to children and adults for rehabilitation, developmental needs, and improvement of their quality of life. When she is not in music mode, she enjoys crafts, reading, watching movies, and hiking with her husband Brett. Megumi has a Bachelors of Music degree from the University of Washington and a Masters of Music degree from Colorado State University.
Ryan Prijic – Violin
Ryan holds a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Violin Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). At CCM he was a Dorothy Richard Starling Foundation Scholarship recipient for all four years of his undergraduate studies and a graduate assistant during his masters degree. His primary teachers have included Won-Bin Yim and Arden Lambert (violin) as well as Lee Fiser and William Grubb (chamber music). At CCM, Ryan was a pedagogy student of renowned violin pedagogue, Kurt Sassmanshaus and has since received additional string pedagogy instruction at Oberlin Conservatory from Dr. Joanne Erwin. Ryan is an accomplished orchestral musician and has performed as a member of numerous orchestras including the Youngstown, Akron, and Richmond Symphonies, in addition to the Aspen Festival and Concert orchestras. At CCM Ryan held the position of concertmaster and principle second violin for both the Philharmonia and Concert orchestras. Ryan hails from Green Bay, Wisconsin and has been teaching privately and in various public schools for ten years. He has just relocated to Northern Colorado.
Mary Zimmerman - Voice
Mary has trained at the University of Minnesota and the MacPhail Conservatory of Music (vocals and performing arts), with Buddy Kaye and Al Kashsa in Los Angeles (song writing) and with the top television and film teachers in the metropolitan Denver area (acting).
The Zimmerman Vocal Method is a unique approach to teaching voice by utilizing the entire body and mind. Each lesson is tailored to the student's age and includes exercise, vocal technique, lectures and songs. The student is coached in a variety of musical styles with an overall focus on the enjoyment of the process of learning to sing.
Audree Dillard - Percussion
Audree Dillard has been giving drum lessons for about 7 years. She enjoys teaching immensely and tries to encourage her students to experiment with many different styles while catering to their individual needs. She has played in a variety of bands such as Walt Jenkins, Liz Barnez and many more. Currently, she is playing with Peaches and the Groove Doctors, Glass Ceiling, The Marvin Fisher Trio, Roc and Soul and at the Crossroads Church in Greeley.
Alan Skowron - Guitar
Alan Skowron began his musical training learning piano using the Suzuki method. He then later began studying the guitar intensely. He studied both classical and rock guitar during high school and then attended Berklee Music College in Boston to study jazz guitar after graduation. Alan pursued the classical guitar in college and received a Master's degree in Music with an emphasis in classical guitar performance, in 1999 from Colorado State University. He has won several scholarships and awards for his musical performance ability. Since that time, he has been actively teaching and performing in the Northern Colorado area. He continues to further his classical guitar training under the instruction of Masakazu Ito, a reputable classical guitarist, instructor, performer and composer of the Denver area.
John P.Nollet (JP) - Guitar
Don Hahn - Flute, Clarinet, Sax, Trumpet, Trombone, F. Horn, Baritone and Tuba
Don Hahn has a Bachelor of Music degree from North Texas State University and two years of graduate studies from the University of Northern Colorado. Don's performance experience includes: orchestras, concert bands, jazz bands and brass quintets. Don is certified as a K-12 music teacher from the state of Colorado. Don is also a member of Music Educator's National Conference. Don has had 8 years of experience as a public school music instructor as well as several years teaching private lessons. Styles taught: Classical as well as Folk and Blues based forms.
